Begum Rana Liaquat Ali Khan and Fatima Jinnah are two of the most important women in Pakistan's history. As refugees poured into Pakistan from India after the independence from the British, Begum Liaquat organized women and helped them take charge of their lives and families by offering them education and work. Fatima Jinnah has long been considered a role model for Pakistani girls. Living independently much of her life, she ran an impressive campaign for President long before Benazir Bhutto appeared on the scene. © Jazbah.org 2008.
